Films With The Best Soundtracks

by Abbie Franks |

As it's the winter months and the film nights are certainly in full flow, we've accumulated a range of films with killer soundtracks for you to enjoy below.

Bend It Like Beckham

This romantic comedy may be an unlikely film to have a great soundtrack, however we love the songs throughout. With the likes of Blondie and Texas on the list, it’s a real feel-good soundtrack.

Northern Soul

Rather obvious by the title, Northern Soul has a huge tracklist which will make you want to get up and dance. The soundtrack is available on record and CD so we would definitely recommend getting your hands on it!

Trainspotting (1996)

A film and soundtrack, which we all know and love - Trainspotting. Although Underworld - Born Slippy, is probably the song which first springs to mind, the rest of the soundtrack is killer too. Iggy Pop, New Order, David Bowie, Primal Scream and Joy Division are just a few big names featured throughout.

The Business

This 2005 film transports us back to the 80s with a superb soundtrack. Expect to hear the likes of: Blondie, Duran Duran, David Bowie, Martha and the Muffins and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Jimmy Grimble

Set in Manchester, this millennial film boasts a soundtrack heavily dominated by Northern bands. Expect to hear the likes of The Charlatans, Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses, Echo & The Bunnymen and The La's.

Submarine

2011 saw the release of the indie film: Submarine. The soundtrack fits the film perfectly and consists of a intimate debut EP by Alex Turner.

Pulp Fiction

This iconic 1994 film has a diverse soundtrack filled with American rock and roll, surf music, pop and soul. To amp up the nostalgic feel of the soundtrack, we'd suggest purchasing it on vinyl.
